Personal life

• He likes singing ever since he was little. In the fourth grade of elementary school, he went to a nursery rhyme contest, won a prize, and joined a choir. In middle school, when he was thinking about what he should do to be happy in life, he thought about "music", so he studied and practiced singing to appeal to his parents.
• He learned English when he went to Los Angeles for 3 months.
• He has a dog plushie called Daengmo.
• If he wasn't in Stray Kids, he would be a photographer, an elementary school teacher or a prosecutor.
• Around 2020, Seungmin scouted for his own vocal teacher outside of JYP Entertainment to improve his singing skills and started attending the classes of Voice Tuning.

• Baseball:
  • Seungmin has a long personal history with baseball. He was introduced to it by his grand-father and threw the first pitch at a game for SK Wyverns when he was 9. He initially dreamed of becoming a baseball player but he had to put it on halt because of an injury and other problems. To this day, he still practices baseball at times and is an avid watcher. In particular, he is a big fan of the Lotte Giants since he is 7, and whenever he wears a sports jersey, he always chooses n°11 which is the number of Choi Dong-won, a legendary pitcher for Lotte Giants. In 2022, he got a signed jersey from his favorite player Lee Dae-ho. In 2023, he was invited to throw the first pitch for the Lotte Giants in Busan, but the match was cancelled because of bad weather. However a year later in 2024, he finally threw a first pitch for the exhibition match between Team Korea and Los Angeles Dodgers, which received a lot of praise for being a perfect strike. He was also mentioned by the official Major League Baseball on X/Twitter for his clip of "As we are" showing him playing baseball.

Nicknames

• "Puppy", 댕댕이 daengdaengie in Korean.
• "Great Singing Puppy"
• "Snail", 달팽이 dalpaengi in Korean. It was coined by the staff and members because they say that he is slow.
• "Seungmo" was accidentally created by Felix on Seungmin's 2019 birthday live. He had to make an acrostic poem with "Seung" and "min" but used "Seung" and "mo" instead.
• "Cherry" from his red hair during debut era.
• "Dandy Boy", a self made nickname he would always introduce himself as at debut, due to his dandy and neat looks.
• "Sky", his name when he lived shortly in Los Angeles.

Appearance

• He thinks his most charming point is his chubby left cheek.
• He used to wear braces. They were removed in January 2023.
• His appearance is always likened to that of a puppy.
• He has a mole on his left cheek.
• He is the second tallest member of the group after Hyunjin.
• His lookalikes are DAY6 Wonpil and actors Lee Jang Woo and Park Bo Gum.
• Sometimes, he wakes up with a double eyelid on one eye. It happens two or three times a year.

• He is usually quiet, but he gets loud when he is in the right mood and is uncontrollable when excited.
• He always aims for stability in his life by following a planned route and doing things with consistency.

• He is very eager to improve, and he prefers to receive criticism over compliments.
• He has a reputation of being a serial cheater in variety games. He also loves lying and pulling pranks on the members.

Habits & skills

• Seungmin never missed a day writing his logs as a trainee. Even now, he always writes in his diary.
• During the survival show, his role at the dorm was to wake up early and cook fried egg.
• He is a morning person.
• He is the cleanest member and is proud about his sense of organization. He often goes after the members who did not clean their part of the dorm well.
• He cannot hear or understand what people say when he is busy or when the atsmophere is hectic.
• He eats fish bread from its tail first.
• He tends to make a nasally sound when he's not paying attention to his voice.
• He's a good photographer.
• He has a good memory.
• He can juggle two balls.
• He eats lemon and sour food better than all of the members.
• He can't eat spicy food well and he'll start sweating if he does. He rated his spice tolerance 5/10.

• If he notices he lacks stamina while singing, he immediately heads to the gym.
• He got his driving license in 2024 in order to drive himself and the members to vocal lessons and avoid bothering managers late at night.
