Hellevator is a pre-debut digital single and first release of South Korean boy group Stray Kids. It was premiered with the music video on October 6, 2017, and released digitally on November 1.

The song was featured on their pre-debut mini album Mixtape as the first and title track on January 8, 2018. The re-recorded version was released as the title track of their first best album SKZ2020 on March 18, 2020.

Background

"Hellevator" was written by Stray Kids after receiving their first mission from J.Y. Park to "complete the stage with a self-written song" during the survival show Stray Kids.

The music video was released on October 6, 2017 before the broadcast. The song was released digitally the day after the third episode aired, on November 1, 2017.

Composition

“	The title track "Hellevator" is a combination of the words "Hell" and "Elevator", and is a statement that Stray Kids will push through the pain and hard work to reach the top. The members composed a tight flow to harmonize the dark atmosphere with the melody, and added different changes to the hook melodies in the first and second verses to create a dynamic feeling.	”
